What started as a small wholesale business has grown into a destination store visited by customers from all over Victoria and beyond.
The Biggest Lollie Shop In The World began in 1980, when Managing Director Paul Gordon was working as a wholesaler and distributor in the cake and confectionery industry. As his passion for sweets and retail grew, he took the next step and opened his first lollie store in 1982 at South Melbourne Market.
By 1987, the business expanded again with a second retail outlet, Cool Hand Luke’s Lollies on Buckley Street in Essendon. With growing demand and an expanding customer base, the business continued to evolve.
In 1995, Paul opened a much larger warehouse called Dolphin Shadows Wholesale Confectionery on Garden Drive in Tullamarine. This location serviced both retail customers and wholesale clients, helping the business grow even further across Melbourne.
By 1999, it was clear the business had outgrown its warehouse. The decision was made to relocate to a much larger 20,000 square foot premises in Westmeadows, Victoria. This move marked the beginning of what would become The Biggest Lollie Shop In The World.
It was here that the vision truly came to life — a massive confectionery and party superstore offering thousands of products under one roof.
Soon after relocating, the business expanded its range even further by introducing a huge selection of imported USA candy and an even larger party supply range. At the time, this made us one of the first businesses in Australia to combine confectionery and party products in a single superstore experience.
Today, The Biggest Lollie Shop In The World is proudly owned and operated by Paul Gordon, together with his wife Robyn and son Ben. Alongside a dedicated team, they continue to run the business as a retail destination focused on customer service, quality products, and an unmatched range of sweets and party supplies.
